Attorney Maddie McCue was recently inducted into the Milton Area Hall of Fame, due to her outstanding athletic achievements.

Maddie was a 12-time letter winner for Milton, Golf (4 years), Softball (4 years), Gymnastics (3 years), Poms (1 year, senior year).
McCue was a centerfielder for the Red Hawks with lightning in her arm and fire in her heart. She was all-conference 4 times and MVP of the team in her sophomore, junior, and senior years. McCue earned all-state honors in her sophomore and junior years. McCue played every out of every inning from her freshmen to senior year. She was the captain of the softball team in her senior campaign. McCue left Milton with school records for hits in a season (42) and career hits (147). McCue’s team also won the Illinois State AAU Softball Championship in 2011.
McCue was MVP of the golf team as a junior and Captain of the golf team as a senior. She was all-conference in 2013. She was all-state her sophomore, junior and senior years. McCue was the only golfer, male or female, to qualify for State all four years of her prep career (twice individually and three times as a team). McCue was 11 th in the State as a freshman and junior. Her teams qualified for the Team State Tournament in her freshmen, sophomore and senior years, placing 4th, 4th and earning Team State Runner Up honors in her freshmen campaign. As a senior, McCue was a WIAA Scholar Athlete of the Year award and earned the American Legion Award as Milton’s best female athlete. McCue won 20 Wisconsin junior PGA individual events and was named to the Team Wisconsin Junior PGA Ryder Cup team that beat Minnesota 18.5 to 17.5.
McCue earned a golf scholarship at Division 1 University of North Dakota. After a year in the tundra, she returned to Wisconsin where she reunited with Milton Hall of Famer, Andrea (Meeker) Wieland, who became the golf coach at UW Whitewater after coaching McCue in high school. McCue lettered 3 times in golf at UW Whitewater. Her teams were two-time conference champions and two-time National Tournament qualifiers.
