Celebrating Advocacy, Family, and Community at the Breakthrough T1D Wisconsin Gala

The Nowlan family was honored to stand alongside our colleague, Attorney Anna Eager, and her family as they were recognized at the Breakthrough T1D Wisconsin Gala this past March. It was an evening filled with inspiration, gratitude, and a shared commitment to advancing research and support for those living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
At the heart of the celebration was the Steve and Amy Eager family, who were named the Honoree Family for the Madison Chapter of Breakthrough T1D. This recognition reflects nearly three decades (27 years) of unwavering dedication to finding a cure for T1D. Through fundraising efforts, community events, and participation in walks and bike rides, the Eager family has made a lasting impact not only within their local community but also in the broader effort to support research and awareness nationwide.
For Attorney Anna Eager, this cause is deeply personal. Her older siblings both live with T1D, giving her family a firsthand understanding of the daily challenges and resilience required to manage the condition. Their advocacy is rooted in “lived” experience, and their commitment over the years reflects both determination and hope for a future free from T1D.
The gala itself, hosted by Breakthrough T1D, brought together supporters, families, and advocates who share a common goal: advancing breakthroughs in treatment and ultimately finding a cure. Events like these play a critical role in funding research, supporting innovation, and building a strong community for individuals and families affected by T1D.
Nowlan Law was proud to serve as a sponsor for this special evening. Supporting Attorney Eager and her family in this moment of recognition was not only an honor but also a reflection of our firm’s commitment to community involvement and standing behind causes that matter to our team. We believe that supporting our colleagues extends beyond the workplace, and being present for milestones like this reinforces the values that guide our firm.
The Eager family’s story is one of perseverance, generosity, and advocacy. Over the years, they have consistently shown up: organizing, participating, and contributing in ways that have helped drive awareness and resources toward T1D research. Their recognition at the gala is a well-deserved acknowledgment of the countless hours and efforts they have dedicated to this cause.
We are grateful to have Attorney Eager as part of the Nowlan Law team and to have had the opportunity to support her family’s incredible work. Their commitment to making a difference serves as an inspiration to all of us.
Events like the Breakthrough T1D Wisconsin Gala are more than just celebrations—they are powerful reminders of why advocacy matters and how far dedication can take us. If you are inspired by the Eager family’s story and the mission of Breakthrough T1D, we encourage you to consider getting involved.
