Nowlan Law Proudly Sponsored Project 16:49 Lip Sync Battle 

At Nowlan Law, supporting the communities we serve is a core part of who we are. That’s why we were proud to sponsor and participate in the recent Lip Sync Battle fundraiser benefiting Project 16:49 in Janesville. 

Held on March 7 at the Janesville Performing Arts Center, the event brought together local businesses, organizations, and community members for an evening filled with music, laughter, and friendly competition—all in support of a vital cause. The annual Lip Sync Battle features teams performing choreographed lip-sync routines while raising funds for programs that help vulnerable youth in Rock County. Project 16:49 reported that this year’s event raised more than $80,000, making it a record-breaking year for the fundraiser.  

Supporting Youth Experiencing Homelessness 

Project 16:49 provides critical services for unaccompanied homeless youth ages 14–24 throughout Rock County. Many of these young people are high school students who are experiencing housing instability or homelessness. The organization works to ensure they have access to safe housing, education support, essential resources, and guidance as they work toward stability and independence. 

Programs offered through Project 16:49 include community outreach, case management, housing assistance, and transitional living support designed to help youth stay in school and build a path toward long-term success.  

Fundraising events like the Lip Sync Battle help make these programs possible by generating both financial support and community awareness. 

A Night of Community and Creativity 

The Lip Sync Battle was more than just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of community spirit. Local teams took the stage with energetic performances, elaborate costumes, and choreographed routines that brought the crowd to its feet. 

Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed raffles, cheering on their favorite performers, and supporting the competing teams’ fundraising efforts. The event created an atmosphere of excitement while reminding everyone in attendance of the powerful impact community collaboration can have. 

Sponsors, participants, and attendees all came together with a shared goal: ensuring that young people in our community have the resources and support they need to thrive.
