Maddie was a 12-time letter winner for Milton, earning varsity letters in Golf (4 years), Softball (4 years), Gymnastics (3 years), and Poms (1 year, senior year).

Softball Highlights

McCue was a centerfielder for the Red Hawks with lightning in her arm and fire in her heart. She was named All-Conference four times and was the team MVP during her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She also earned All-State honors in both her sophomore and junior years.

McCue played every inning of every game from her freshman to senior year and captained the team as a senior. She left Milton holding school records for most hits in a season (42) and career hits (147). Her team also won the Illinois State AAU Softball Championship in 2011.

Golf Highlights

McCue was the golf team MVP as a junior and served as captain her senior year. She earned All-Conference honors in 2013 and was All-State as a sophomore, junior, and senior. Notably, she was the only golfer—male or female—to qualify for the State Tournament all four years of her high school career, both as an individual and as part of the team.

She finished 11th in the state as both a freshman and junior. Her teams qualified for the State Tournament in her freshman, sophomore, and senior years, placing 4th twice and finishing as Team State Runners-Up during her freshman season. She was also named a WIAA Scholar Athlete of the Year and received the American Legion Award as Milton’s best female athlete.

McCue won 20 Wisconsin Junior PGA individual events and was selected for the Team Wisconsin Junior PGA Ryder Cup team, which defeated Minnesota 18.5 to 17.5.

Collegiate Career

McCue earned a golf scholarship to Division I University of North Dakota. After a year there, she returned to Wisconsin and reunited with Milton Hall of Famer Andrea (Meeker) Wieland, who had coached her in high school and was then head coach at UW-Whitewater. McCue lettered three times in golf at UW-Whitewater, where her teams won two conference championships and qualified for the National Tournament twice.
